McGee Beach

Located in the heart of Downtown Corpus Christi is a seaweed-free beach with manicured sand that overlooks the Corpus Christi Bay. McGee Beach is a hub for sports such as volleyball, soccer, and more.

This slice of paradise is the place for sports of all kinds. McGee Beach can accommodate 9 courts for sports such as volleyball, soccer, and rugby on its soft white sands overlooking the Corpus Christi Bay.

And just a few steps from the beach, you will find a covered basketball court (Islander Pavillion) next to a spacious paved parking lot and rest area. The rest area is shaded and includes brick-and-mortar restrooms for men and women, picnic tables, and electrical hookups for food trucks, live music, or presenters. On the north side of the park, you'll find The Great Lawn, a green space that can accommodate a variety of field sports like soccer, rugby, lacrosse, and more.

The Facility

In between the green spaces of Water's Edge Park and the sands of McGee Beach is a pedestrian-friendly path that is paved and closed off to vehicles. This allows for easy access between events, restrooms, food trucks, and seating.

Once you go down the steps of the seawall, which also has built-in spectator seating for McGee Beach events, is a large shaded area that overlooks the beach and bay. This multipurpose pavilion is ADA accessible and is the perfect place for a beachside reception during your event.

With ample seating, parking, electricity, and easy access to a 30-acre park, McGee Beach is a premier destination to host or attend a sporting event in Corpus Christi.

McGee Beach is in close proximity to a handful of hotel options and the Corpus Christi Marina. This means you’ll wake up a hop, skip, and jump away from your beach locale and be within walking distance from the only major downtown marina on the Texas coast.
