CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – June 15, 2026 – Visit Corpus Christi has announced the new board leadership for the Corpus Christi Tourism Public Improvement District, a hotel-funded initiative that supports tourism promotion and overnight visitation.
The TPID Board leadership includes:
• Nayana (Nancy) Patel, Chair
• Ajit David, Vice Chair
• Kaushik "Charlie" Bhakta, Treasurer
• Parixit Bhakta, Secretary
Established by the local hotel community in 2022, the TPID funds supplemental marketing and sales efforts that promote Corpus Christi to leisure travelers, meeting planners and convention organizers. Every dollar generated through a 2 percent assessment on overnight stays is reinvested through Visit Corpus Christi to grow group business, expand national and international reach, and support the Corpus Christi Sports Commission and Corpus Christi Film and Music Commission.
Corpus Christi welcomes more than 5.1 million visitors annually, generating approximately $1.2 billion in visitor spending each year. Through investments in destination promotion, sales, sports tourism and film and music attraction efforts, the TPID helps drive visitation and economic impact across the Coastal Bend.
