Destination Update

Bob Hall Pier on North Padre Island will be temporarily closed to the public on Thursday, April 23, 2026 beginning at 5 a.m. to midnight to allow for scheduled maintenance and reinforcement of the concrete surface. During this time, barricades and clearly marked safety zones will be in place, and visitors are advised to avoid the area while work is underway. The pier is expected to reopen the following day following completion of the improvements.

Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a vibrant Mexican holiday rich in tradition, celebrated to honor and remember loved ones who have passed. On Saturday, November 1, from 3 p.m. to midnight, experience the Día de los Muertos Street Festival in Downtown Corpus Christi, one of South Texas’s most anticipated cultural events. Now in its 18th year, this Corpus Christi festival blends Mexican heritage with community spirit. Stroll through streets alive with music, dance, and the colorful sights of ofrendas—traditional altars honoring the deceased. Experience local art at every corner, indulge in authentic Mexican cuisine, and enjoy live performances that capture the essence of this beloved tradition.   • The festival is held in Downtown Corpus Christi on Chaparral, Starr, Mesquite, Taylor, and Peoples Streets.

  • Parking

    Attendees are encouraged to use the free shuttle services or utilize rideshare options. Several adjacent streets are "No Parking" zones during the festival. 

    Pick-ups provided by the Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority are available on Leopard St. from the parking lots at City Hall, County Courthouse, or the Sandollar Parking Lot at Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi. You will be dropped off at the festival at Starr and Upper Broadway. 

    Paid Downtown Parking is available in multiple areas downtown:

    • Garage at Schatzel & Chaparral
    • Lot at Water & Schatzel
    FREE Park -N-Ride Shuttles

    Shuttles will be provided by Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority from 2:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m..

    Drop off is in the center of the festival at the Dia de los Muertos Mural on Starr and Upper Broadway in Downtown Corpus Christi.

  • Free Admission

    The festival is free to attend, but you have the option to purchase tickets to the VIP Party for extra fun.

    VIP Party

    Join the fun at the VIP party hosted at KSpace Contemporary. Mingle with artists, locals, and festivalgoers in a vibrant, art-filled space overlooking all the downtown action. Enjoy live music, handcrafted drinks, and delicious bites as you soak in the colorful energy of one of Corpus Christi’s most anticipated fall events. It’s the perfect way to experience the festival’s creative spirit.

    Each VIP ticket includes: 
    • Exclusive access to the 21+ VIP party and private patio with a great view of the main stage
    • Three (3) Complimentary drink tickets (Margaritas, Wine & Beer)
    • Two (2) Taco Plate Tickets (2 tacos, 2 sides). Catered by BUEN PROVECHO - Food Service 4 to 10 pm
    • Unlimited trips to the HEB Nacho Bar 4 to 10 pm
    • Coffee and Pastries 10 to 11:30 pm
    • Indoor, clean, air-conditioned, VIP-only bathrooms 
    • K Space membership for one year

  • Food & Drink

    There will be 25 local vendors serving food onsite ranging from tacos and nachos to hamburgers, pizza, and barbecue. Picnic tables are available in the parking lot by the Ritz Stage and in La Retama Park. Beer, seltzers, soft drinks, water, and lemonade may be purchased at festival bars. Outdoor bars will be accepting both cash and credit card payments. Please get in the appropriate line and have your ID ready. The main food truck court will be on Taylor St. with additional trucks at La Retama Park. 

    Shopping

    There will be over 100 local vendors selling hand crafted jewelry, arts and crafts, flower crowns, face painting experiences, sweet treats, and more! You can also purchase official festival merchandise benefitting K Space Contemporary, a non-profit organization that hosts the Dia de los Muertos Festival and facilitates much of the murals in Corpus Christi. 

  • Yes! There will be plenty of art on display from Ofrendas and piñatas to student art competitions. 

    Ofrendas
    • The Community Ofrenda Display, created by members of the community, including businesses, families, youth groups, and more, will be featured at The Ward Building on the corner of People’s Street and Chaparral Street. It includes an elaborate ofrenda honoring deceased Coastal Bend residents, along with a tribute area where visitors can remember and honor their own loved ones.
    • Participate in the downtown walking ofrenda tour of local businesses that have curated ofrenda displays to honor loved ones. 
    Art
    • Extravagancia de Piñatas: K Space Contemporary hosts the 14th Annual youth piñata exhibition and competition. Local K–12 teachers and group leaders create piñatas with their students for cash prizes. The 2025 theme is Árbol de la Vida (Tree of Life).
    • Hecho a Mano Art Expo featuring original artwork and crafts, and kids’ activities in The Ward Building, art exhibitions, and demonstrations. Students from Texas A&M -Corpus Christi and Del Mar College demonstrate various art processes, display architectural designs, and perform at the event. 
    • Browse cultural art throughout the festival, including art you can purchase from local vendors! 
  • Yes, the festival is designed for all ages!

    Family-Friendly

    There are kids' zones with face painting, crafts, and family-friendly entertainment, as well as cultural exhibits and performances suitable for everyone. 

    Pet-Friendly

    While the festival is outdoors, it is not recommend anyone bring their pets unless they are service animals. The festival is crowded and loud which may cause undue stress to pets.  If you do bring your pets, they must be on a leash at all times. Pet owners are encouraged to ensure their pets are comfortable with large crowds and loud music. 

  • Yes! Attendees are encouraged to wear traditional Día de los Muertos attire, including sugar skull (Catrina) makeup, floral headbands, and vibrant clothing. Show off your festive spirit, though it’s not mandatory!

  • Prohibited Items
    • Ice Chests are prohibited by city ordinance and TABC licensing
    • Alcoholic beverages (unless purchased and consumed on festival grounds)​

    Alcoholic beverages may not be taken outside of the festival zone. Please dispose of them before you exit.
