From Malaquite Beach to Whitecap Beach and JP Luby Beach these seaside retreats are great spots to kick back and unwind. 2. South Texas Music Walk of Fame

Established in 2006 near Water Street Oyster Bar, this walk of fame honors the diverse range of talented musicians of South Texas and continues to grow. It is always open and always free to the public, so if you’re a music fan, this is a must-see!  

 

3. Downtown Art Scene

While you’re checking out the local art scene, be sure to stop by the 52’x24’ “ Lotería Corpus Christi” mural, located near the Bayfront. Based on the popular Mexican Bingo game, the colorful mural showcases the talents of 50 of the most talented artists in Corpus Christi. 4. The Art Center of Corpus Christi

Enjoy local culture and art at the Art Center of Corpus Christi. Browse their selection of paintings, sculptures, photographs, and other installations from local artists. Admission is always free, so mark this destination on your itinerary. 

 

5. Bird Watching

Corpus Christi is known as the “Birdiest City in America,” and we have the best spots to enjoy an unforgettable year-round birding experience with sightings of over 300 birds in the area. Enjoy free admission and gorgeous sightings at Hans A. and Pat Suter Wildlife Refuge, Blucher Park, and Hazel Bazemore County Park.

 

6. Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve

Enjoy a day of nature while gaining access to free educational resources about preserving the natural resources of coastal ecosystems. The 162-acre park is packed with unique local wildlife, plant life, and the two miles of nature viewing trails make a great destination with the perfect Instagram-worthy views!  

 

7. Downtown Seawall

The waterfront wall, located along Shoreline Blvd., is perfect for enjoying the sights and sounds of the ocean while taking a walk, jogging, or riding a bike. The double-sided benches and Miradores offer unique relaxation spots overlooking the water, while the “Journey Through Our Solar System” display offers an educational and artistic element to your downtown visit. 

 

8. Mirador de la Flor

Also located along the seawall, the Mirador de la Flor, a life-size bronze statue of murdered Tejano superstar, Selena, overlooks the ocean and is a popular visitor attraction and photography hotspot. The walkway below the memorial leads to a colorful display of hand-painted tiles in floral print and music notes, showcasing the talent of South Texas school children and senior citizens.
