Bob Hall Pier on North Padre Island will be temporarily closed to the public on Thursday, April 23, 2026 beginning at 5 a.m. to midnight to allow for scheduled maintenance and reinforcement of the concrete surface. During this time, barricades and clearly marked safety zones will be in place, and visitors are advised to avoid the area while work is underway. The pier is expected to reopen the following day following completion of the improvements.

Dean Runyan Associates completes economic impact studies on the effects of tourism within the city of Corpus Christi and the Coastal Bend region, released by both Visit Corpus Christi and the Texas State Governor’s office.

The report uses several data sources to estimate the amount of economic impact and visitor spend that tourism brings to Corpus Christi every year. In addition, the report includes estimates of visitor volume, breakdowns of visitors by accommodation type, breakdowns of spending by sector, and tourism’s effects on local employment.

In 2023, tourism brought a record $1.48 billion to the city of Corpus Christi.
