An annular solar eclipse is a celestial event that occurs when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun. As a result, a bright ring, or "annulus," of the Sun's outer edge remains visible, surrounding the dark disk of the Moon and giving it the "ring of fire" appearance.

Corpus Christi is the last major point to catch the eclipse in the United States. The solar eclipse will be viewable from most parts of the city, including major attractions like, Downtown Corpus Christi, Corpus Christi Bayfront, and North Padre Island.

- Never look directly at the sun during an annular eclipse without proper eclipse glasses.

- Ensure that children and pets are kept close in crowded eclipse-viewing areas.
