  • City of Corpus Christi's Office of Emergency Management Continues to Monitor Weather Conditions

    The City of Corpus Christi and its Office of Emergency Management are actively monitoring Hurricane Beryl and will continue to track the weather situation throughout the coming days. Collaboration with the National Weather Service (NWS) is ongoing to prepare for any potential impacts.

    Here are some important steps to ensure community safety:

    • Gather Emergency Supplies: Stock up on food, water, and supplies to sustain each family member for several days.
    • Make an Emergency Plan: Ensure everyone in your household is familiar with and understands your hurricane plan.
    • Prepare Your Home: Secure your surroundings, protect windows and doors, be ready to turn off power, and store drinking water in clean containers.
  • Due to forecasted coastal flooding from Hurricane Beryl, overnight camping at all city-maintained Gulf beaches is prohibited Saturday, July 6, through Monday, July 8.

    Mustang Island

    Beach Driving

    July 4, 2024 - Only those with 4x4 vehicles should drive on the beach due to soft sand. Otherwise, you should park in the day-use parking lot to avoid getting stuck. 

    Beach Camping Closed

    July 3, 2024 - The park is open, but beach camping is closed due to an approaching storm. It will reopen when conditions allow.

    Weather Notice

    July 3, 2024 - Please monitor the National Weather Service website for information on an approaching storm that may impact the park. Be prepared to adjust your holiday weekend plans.
