WHAT:
Join the Corpus Christi Sports Commission, a strategic initiative of Visit Corpus Christi, in welcoming home New York Yankees catcher, Jose Trevino. The All-Star Catcher is heading back to his hometown of Corpus Christi for “Trevi’s Homecoming," a youth baseball and softball tournament, along with the Third Annual Trevino Toy Drive.
Trevis Homecoming will be a three-day event that will include a youth homerun derby and firework show at Corpus Christi’s Whataburger Field. A two-day baseball and softball tournament will take place December 9th and 10th in Portland, Texas. This event will include pin trading, autographs, giveaways, food trucks, vendors, and more for participants and the community to enjoy.
To kick-off the weekend, the USS Lexington Museum on the Bay is hosting an opening ceremony on Friday, December 8th at 10:00 am, where participants and spectators can watch batting practice, where professionals hit off the flight deck. We invite everyone to attend these exciting events that will be taking place throughout our community for all to enjoy.
The Trevino Toy Drive is a charitable organization that provides toy donations to children in underserved communities through partnership with a variety of charity organizations in an effort to spread joy during the holiday season. In addition, they are accepting food donations for those in need. All donations can be left at Whataburger Field prior to the Youth Homerun Derby.
