Corpus Christi, Texas – February 7, 2023 – The Corpus Christi Film and Music Commission, housed under Visit Corpus Christi in partnership with the Texas Music Office (TMO) is set to co-host the Coastal Bend Music Industry Symposium, a Music Friendly Texas workshop where musicians, venues, and the general public are all welcome to attend and learn about how to make Corpus Christi a music friendly city.

The event will be held on Thursday, February 16th at The House of Rock in downtown Corpus Christi. Throughout the day, various workshops and sessions will take place in an active effort to introduce ideas and processes on how Corpus Christi, as a community can become a Texas Music friendly city. In addition, the event will also look to increase visibility of local talent by showcasing and helping solo acts and bands expand their reach and resources.

"The Music Friendly Workshop is a vital resource to our local music community and our partners. Corpus Christi is a unique destination for music events and its important we showcase these opportunities by first providing a platform for education, networking, and valuable resources.  We are honored to be a partner with the Texas Music Office and the Coast Bend Music Industry Symposium on this important event for Corpus Christi" said Erica Bhakta, Vice President of Visit Corpus Christi and interim Corpus Christi Film and Music Commissioner. 

In addition to various insightful sessions, the Texas Music Office Director Brendon Anthony and Community Relations & Outreach Specialist Chip Adams will also have a Q&A session opened to they public, where they will explain the Music Friendly Texas designation from 5-5:45pm.
