CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – May 17, 2024 – Visit Corpus Christi proudly joins the nation in celebrating the 2024 National Travel and Tourism Week (NTTW) from May 19-25, 2024, with the launch of a new community awareness campaign. As a part of this initiative, the organization will be featuring various Corpus Christi community leaders on social media, sharing their take on the economic impact that tourism brings to the Gulf Coast Capital.

The Corpus Christi visitor economy is the region's 2nd largest industry employing over 25,000 people. Tourism generates more than 1.4 billion dollars annually to the Gulf Coast Capital, according to a study by Dean Runyan Associates with the corresponding tax revenues going directly to the city's general fund to increase resident quality of life by improving streets and parks and hiring more safety personnel.

“Every person living in Corpus Christi benefits from tourism.” said Brett Oetting, President and CEO of Visit Corpus Christi, “Visitors spend money in our friends and families' businesses which keep thousands employed and food on their tables.”
