CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — Visit Corpus Christi is joining destinations around the world in recognizing Global Meetings Industry Day (GMID) on Thursday, April 3, 2025—a day dedicated to celebrating the value of professional meetings and events and the role they play in driving local economies.

To support regional engagement, Visit Corpus Christi has launched a GMID 2025 Media Toolkit designed to help local partners, tourism stakeholders, and community leaders share how meetings matter to Corpus Christi’s visitor economy.

Driven by the U.S. Travel Association’s Meetings Mean Business Coalition, GMID celebrates how conferences, trade shows, and business gatherings fuel innovation, strengthen community connections, and support small businesses. In Corpus Christi, meetings generate significant visitor spending and directly benefit local hotels, restaurants, venues, and service providers.

“Global Meetings Industry Day is a powerful platform to showcase the lasting economic benefits that meetings and events bring to Corpus Christi” said Nicole Olivares, Chief Sales Officer at Visit Corpus Christi. “The impact of these events extends beyond the visitor economy, benefiting our entire community by strengthening local businesses, creating jobs, and positioning our region as a premier destination for both business and leisure travel.”

The 2025 GMID Toolkit includes plug-and-play media materials, branded social graphics, and messaging to help businesses and organizations promote their connection to the meetings and events sector.

Visit Corpus Christi invites partners to:

  • Post toolkit content across social platforms using #MeetingsMatter

  • Tag @VisitCorpusChristi to help amplify community voices

  • Share how meetings contribute to their business and the Coastal Bend
