Visit Corpus Christi is proud to welcome the Business Professionals of America, Texas Association back to the Gulf Coast Capital for the 7th consecutive year, for the 2024 State Leadership Conference. The annual conference highlights young professionals by allowing them to compete in various business scenarios, thus showcasing their qualifications, skills in leadership, and compete amongst their peers.
This conference will not only showcase talented young professionals but highlight Corpus Christi as an ideal travel destination in the winter months. There is a projected $2 million in economic impact from 4,000 attendees and 3,800 room nights.
The local community is invited to volunteer at the State Leadership Conference. The Business Professionals of America - Texas Association, is looking for 300 volunteers to judge the competition in selected 4–5-hour time slots - no previous experience or qualifications are necessary. Judges will receive complementary parking and a provided meal during your time slot.

ABOUT VISIT CORPUS CHRISTI:
Visit Corpus Christi is an internationally accredited 501c6 Destination Management Organization contracted by the city of Corpus Christi to promote travel and tourism to the region. The organization is managed by a 17-member board of directors with a mission of Strengthening the Community by Sharing Corpus Christi with the World. Visit Corpus Christi receives no public funds and has two primary funding sources that are both paid for by visitors staying in overnight accommodation. Per state statute, the city of Corpus Christi levies a 7% Hotel Occupancy Tax on overnight visitors staying in hotels and short-term rentals of which VCC receives 44%. Beginning August 1, 2022, hotels within the city limits of over 40 rooms created the Corpus Christi Tourism Public Improvement District (CCTPID). CCTPID is managed by a 13-member board of hoteliers and levies an additional 2% assessment on overnight stays. VCC receives these funds to use for additional marketing and sales initiatives.
