MEET JASON DAVID PAGE
LOCAL PHOTOGRAPHER
Jason Page’s love for photography started with a simple gift: his grandfather’s old film camera. At just twelve years old, Jason found himself immersed in a world of negatives and light, developing film at Roosevelt Baker’s camera shop in Corpus Christi. The shop’s staff didn’t just process his photos; they offered feedback, shaping the way he saw and captured the world.
“In my head, it was never, ‘This is what I’m going to do.’ It was just something to make a little bit of money until I found something else. And now, it’s been 15 years. I can’t think of a better job that I would like to have.”
Fast forward to 2009, and Jason felt the pull toward digital photography. He picked up a digital camera and started second shooting with a wedding photographer, learning the ropes of the industry. When he lost his job in 2010, photography became a temporary means of income, until he realized it was something he never wanted to give up. What started as a way to make ends meet has now been his full-time career for over 15 years.
Growing up, Jason documented anything that caught his eye from Corpus Christi’s evolving skyline and the marina to the under-construction Crosstown interchange. His passion for capturing the essence of a place never faded. Today, Jason specializes in real estate and interiors, but his portfolio spans destination marketing, industrial photography, and food & beverage projects. His big break into real estate photography came from a chance encounter at a networking lunch when a realtor asked if he could shoot homes. Jason took on the challenge, and before long, real estate photography became a major part of his business.
For Jason, photography is about more than just taking pictures, it’s about telling a story. Whether it’s a homeowner cherishing their last memories before selling a house they’ve lived in for 40 years or nonprofits using his images to raise awareness, Jason finds fulfillment in knowing his work makes an impact. He’s captured everything from sea turtle releases for the Texas State Aquarium to the Heart Walk for the American Heart Association. His photos are seen by volunteers, donors, and decision-makers who can make a difference, and that, he says, is the most rewarding part of his work.
Jason is also a firm believer in seeing the beauty in Corpus Christi. While some locals dismiss the city's scenery, he encourages them to take a drive down Ocean Drive.
“So many people think every photo of Corpus is doctored or Photoshopped, but it’s really that beautiful,” he says. “I drive down Ocean Drive every day, and more often than not, the water is a stunning shade of green or deep blue.”
From film negatives to digital masterpieces, Jason Page continues to frame the world through his lens, preserving the coastal charm of Corpus Christi one shot at a time.
