Getting to North Beach During Harbor Bridge Construction
Planning a trip to North Beach? Whether you're heading to North Beach to dine or explore local attractions, including the Texas State Aquarium and/or USS Lexington, here’s everything you need to know to navigate the ongoing Harbor Bridge improvements. Traffic patterns may shift, so be sure to check current road conditions before your visit.
The Best Route to North Beach
The only direct access to North Beach at this time is via the northbound lanes of the OLD Harbor Bridge.
From IH-37 (San Antonio area)
From SH 286
From Downtown Corpus Christi
Please use the OLD Harbor Bridge (smaller bridge)

Please continue using the northbound lanes on the OLD Harbor Bridge (smaller bridge) to access the North Beach area. Take the North Beach exit and turn right onto Burleson Street. Once on Burleson, you’ve entered North Beach and can follow signage or navigation to your specific destination.

From Portland
Take US-181
There is one exit on US-181 that provides access to North Beach. Take the exit to Beach Ave and turn left, then follow W.Causeway Blvd and turn left. Once you’ve turned left into North Beach, you can follow signage or navigation to your specific destination.
Be advised that these detours are continually evolving and may change without notice.
