This checklist covers the area within 50 miles of downtown Corpus Christi. It extends south to about Sarita, west to about San Diego, northwest to about Beeville and north to about 10 miles north of Refugio.  It includes all of Baffin Bay, Lake Corpus Christi and almost all of Aransas National Wildlife Refuge. (Also see the comprehensive list of birding sites). This checklist does not include accidental species.
