Corpus Christi Cathedral
Corpus Christi Cathedral stands as a historic spiritual landmark overlooking the bay in downtown Corpus Christi. The site traces its roots to Old St. Patrick’s Church, a frame church dedicated in 1882 that became the original cathedral for the Diocese of Corpus Christi in 1912 before being dismantled in 1951. Today’s cathedral was built in 1940 in the Spanish Colonial Revival style and remains the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Corpus Christi, while elements like the stained glass link back to the city’s earliest Catholic heritage.
