Meet Haily Wilson
LOCAL INFLUENCER
Long before Haily Wilson ever thought of herself as an influencer, she was already doing the work. Supporting small businesses came naturally, shaped by growing up around family-run operations and later helping run her mother’s business for seven years. From managing websites and social media to bookkeeping and day-to-day operations, Haily saw firsthand how much heart, time, and sacrifice it takes to keep a local business going. That experience quietly laid the foundation for what would eventually become her platform.
"I know what goes into running a family business. The late nights, the early mornings, the stress, the blood, sweat, and tears. Most restaurants here are family businesses, and I know how hard that is."
Her path into content creation didn’t follow a traditional influencer blueprint. While studying recreation, park, and tourism sciences and working in the food industry, Haily developed a deep appreciation for hospitality and community. Social media was something she gravitated toward early on, first through photography classes, yearbook design, and later documenting her travels while working seasonal jobs across the country. But it wasn’t until she began working as a sales executive for Favor Delivery that everything clicked into place.
Through her role at Favor, Haily works directly with restaurants across Corpus Christi, the Island, and surrounding communities, helping bring local businesses onto the delivery platform. What started as a way to spotlight her Favor partners organically evolved into her now well-known account, Local Texas Foodie. The goal was simple: show people that there are real people behind these businesses, and that local businesses deserve just as much attention as big-name brands.
"I wanted restaurants to be able to look at my page and know I’m a real person who truly cares about their business. It wasn’t about selling anything. It was about trust."
That trust is what sets Haily apart. Her platform is intentionally rooted in authenticity, not ratings or negative reviews. If she shares a restaurant, it’s because she genuinely supports it, often after visiting multiple times. She focuses on approachable, everyday spots, places locals can enjoy without waiting for a special occasion.
Beyond her public-facing content, Haily does extensive marketing work behind the scenes. She manages social media and digital strategy for several local restaurants, including 1983 Mexi-Cafe, Bellino Ristorante, Nueces Whiskey Library, Mamma Lina, and Coco Cabana, among others. Much of what she does goes far beyond contracts or expectations, from updating point-of-sale systems to troubleshooting menus and offering guidance wherever she can. She prefers being in a supportive role, using her skills to help businesses succeed without seeking recognition.
That mindset extends to her broader mission. Haily is intentional about shifting attention away from chain restaurants and toward the locally owned spots that often get overlooked. She believes Corpus Christi has something special, and that sometimes people just need help seeing what’s right in front of them.
When asked what advice she would give to someone wanting to become an influencer, her answer is refreshingly grounded. Fancy equipment and viral trends matter far less than being real.
"People crave authenticity. You don’t need anything fancy. I started with just my phone. Be yourself, set your boundaries, and the right people will find you."
For Haily, influencing has never been about numbers or monetization. It’s about community, connection, and showing up for the people who make Corpus Christi what it is. Through every post, partnership, and behind-the-scenes moment, she continues to prove that supporting local isn’t just content. It’s a commitment.
