  • Sharkathon is dedicated to promoting conservation through catch-and-release fishing, with a specific focus on protecting declining shark populations. By encouraging responsible fishing practices, the tournament aims to educate anglers on the importance of preserving marine species, especially sharks, for future generations. Sharkathon provides a platform for anglers to learn how to catch, photograph, and release sharks, spreading awareness about conservation efforts.   • Sharkathon is located at Briscoe King Pavilion located on Padre Balli Park

    Padre Balli is a 400-acre stretch of coast, known for surfing, shore fishing, and the former Bob Hall Pier. This local gem spans 400 acres of coastline and is renowned for its surfing and shore fishing. Featuring nearly 100 paved RV sites with various amenities, stunning shores, and possibilities for endless adventures, it’s no surprise this sunny spot is a year-round favorite.

  • You’ll need to register on the Sharkathon website. Once you’re logged in with an authorized user account, you will see a tab labeled “store” where you can purchase an entry and pay the fee. Make sure that your email address is correct to avoid errors with logging in or having your registration deleted.

  • Reading the rules is the most important rule of Sharkathon. Each participatnt should thoroughly read and understand all rules and requirements of the event. Failure to do so may lead to disqualification, so please ensure you are familiar with all guidelines before participating. 

    Under Chapter 66, Section 66.023 of the Texas Parks & Wildlife Code, attempting to cheat in a tournament of this size is a third-degree felony. Violators will be reported to the proper authorities.
