Beach to Bay is a relay like no other. It’s no wonder thousands of runners visit the Gulf Coast Capital for the occasion every year. Here are some of the top reasons you should coast on over for this relay race:

1.   It’s one of the largest relay marathons in the United States.

Runners from all over the country and world coast their way to Corpus Christi to conquer the 26.2-mile-long relay race every year. The race begins on the beach on Padre Island and ends at the bay along Corpus Christi’s famous Shoreline Blvd.

2. Run with a view!

The race is a unique opportunity to enjoy picture-perfect scenery. From Padre Island to the Laguna Madre and the Bayfront, there’s no shortage of water, palm trees, and feathered friends along the way.

3. Try a commemorative craft beer.

Every year, Rebel Toad Brewing releases a limited batch of a local favorite. Once you finish the Beach to Bay relay, coast your way over to Rebel Toad and enjoy a glass of Peach to Bay on the patio. Here's a complete list of all the places you can get a pint of Peach to Bay.

4. Honor those who have served

Beach to Bay is always held on the third Saturday in May to coincide with Armed Forces Day. Founded by Captain John Butterfield in 1976, the race honors men and women who’ve served in the United States Military.

5. Explore the Gulf Coast Capital with your crew!

First we run, then we vacay. From drivable beaches to waterfront dining and exciting attractions, Corpus Christi is the place to coast your way. If you’re looking for a brewery tour with the team or a relaxing day on the island, you’ve come to the right place.
