Blucher Park

Tucked away in uptown Corpus Christi, Blucher Park is one of the best birding spots in the area. Surrounded by trees, the trails of Blucher Park won’t disappoint anyone looking for an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life!  


Hans & Pat Suter Wildlife Refuge

This quiet spot is nestled up to the Oso Bay and offers nature loves an ideal location to get away from it all. Take a walk along the 1-mile nature trail and 800-foot boardwalk for a little morning exercise or bring the family out for an impromptu photoshoot.  


Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve & Learning Center  

With 162 acres of outdoor space, this nature preserve offers a glimpse into the natural habitat of South Texas from the inland plains to the coastal wetlands. The preserve also features an on-site learning center for guests to learn about native wildlife and sustainability initiatives.  


Texas A&M University — Corpus Christi Hike & Bike Trail

Overlooking the flats of the Oso Bay, this Hike & Bike Trail takes you around the South Shore of Ward Island. With shorebirds, waders, gulls and terns, this nature trail is perfect for the adventurer with an eye for wildlife! 

South Texas Botanical Gardens & Nature Center

While the South Texas Botanical Gardens & Nature Center is one of Corpus Christi’s top attractions, many people don’t realize just how much space there is to explore. With 182 acres of outdoor space, the Botanical Gardens offers plenty of space for hiking, birdwatching, or even just a picnic in the park.  


Packery Channel Park

This park is truly a hidden gem! Located on the east side of Padre Island, Packery Channel Park is home to the Oak Motte Sanctuary and boat ramp access to the Packery Channel. Great for shore fishing, launching a kayak and a little bit of bird watching too! 


Hazel Bazemore Park

Located in Northwest Corpus Christi, Hazel Bazemore Park is one of the best locations in the nation for hawk-watching. With a prime location on the Nueces River, guests can enjoy a picnic in the park, hiking trails and plenty of wildlife viewing from the built-in platforms.  

Bird Island Basin

This hidden gem is one of the coolest locations in the Coastal Bend.
